In this post, I aim to go through the apprehensions surrounding Reiki and offer a solution.
What is Reiki?
Rei-Ki is Japanese in origin.
Rei which means ‘Spiritual Wisdom’ and Ki which means ‘Universal Life Energy’.
Reiki is not attached to one specific religion, and is often spoken about as intelligent or conscious energy.
1. Is Reiki your energy?
No, Reiki is a conscious universal energy that I have been attuned to accessing.
The attunement occurs when a Reiki Master opens my crown chakra to let the energy become accessed by me.
The process took several months to reach the highest level of attunement.
Throughout the process, I had to go through several layers of my own personal traumas and become the best version of myself.
The energy healed me when I became attuned to it.
Daily practice of Reiki on myself and on close family members and friends has allowed me to become more aligned with the way Reiki is intended to flow in my life.
2. What does Reiki feel like?
If you’re asking this question, then I would ask you to tell me what you’re expecting Reiki to feel like.
Not to start a banter, and seem unprofessional, but because the question comes with apprehension.
Reiki feels different to everyone.
My dog Leo, loves Reiki. He puts his head back, and lies on his back and does a little smile at me.
It’s not about being the same for everyone, but the general feelings to expect are;
- peaceful
- calm
- deep sleep
- tranquility
- joy
- relaxed
- love
There is also quite a difference between hands-on Reiki and distance Reiki.
3. I’m not spiritual, it won’t work for me…
Wrong! Reiki works for everyone! Though, it helps if you’re open minded!
If you’re getting caught in this mental trap, I would offer a distance session for free to get you through this apprehension.
Yes, Reiki is spiritual, but you are a spirit having a human experience, whether you’re conscious of that or not!
I’d suggest reading about universal consciousness and understanding the argument I made as a baseline for what Reiki is!
4. I practice Religion, so I cannot have Reiki treatment.
As I stated from the beginning, Reiki is not attached to any specific religion.
It was brought to North America, by a Japanese Buddhist.
I have confirmed this with Theologians at the University of Toronto, Reiki is not attached to a specific religion and is a universal conscious healing energy.
If you are uncomfortable with Reiki then please, listen to your inner self before making this decision.
It is important to be comfortable with letting the energy heal you before having any interaction with Reiki energy.
5. Why should I work with you, Kristina?
You’re right! Why me?
That’s a great question!
I will start by suggesting you read my mental health journey and understand what I’ve been through to get me to the place I am now.
If you’re interested in Reiki then that is amazing!
I consider myself a healer, and look forward to discussing how Reiki can fit into your life.
Healing is a slow process, and requires trust, respect, and understanding.
I am not a therapist, or a counsellor, but I am a friend.
Here are some reasons to work with me…
1. I’m not like everyone else.
My whole life I have been the odd one out. I’ve never fit in with social norms, and partly because I never wanted to.
2. I do things differently
I’ve never been someone who conforms to the societal standard and I probably never will…
That being said, I am still a rule follower, I hold myself accountable, and understand personal responsibility.
3. How are you different?
I make bracelets, or a keychain filled with Reiki energy for those who work with me, so Reiki is always around.
I’m a very creative person, and part of my Reiki practice is to design a healing bracelet for my clients to wear throughout their life and have something to physically connect them with their healing.
Remember that Reiki is not my energy, so it’s not connected to me.
Keep in mind…
Trust your vibe!
