HAPPY NEW MONTH! Today marks the start of Fabulous February! I’m thrilled to be writing this month’s series for you, as it inspires me to inspire you to your greatest self.
First, let me tell you about the top 3 markers you need to try if you LOVE journaling.
In order to become the greatest version of yourself, a LOT of soul searching is required. If you’ve never journaled before, don’t fret, read this!
Last year, I filled 14 notebooks with my thoughts, ideas, and things I needed to remember, release or generally get out of my head.
I’ve always been into journalling, but as I’ve grown with this blog, my love of colour has also grown, and now I am devoted to using coloured markers in my journals for three reasons.
#1 Tombow
Tombow is a fancy-shamncy brand for markers, they can be purchased in many places, including Indigo, Deserres, Michaels, and Amazon.
The markers Tombow makes are water based, meaning they won’t bleed through your page.
The brush markers are amazing, if you like to draw with markers, as well as journal, or if you’re into calligraphy as well as journaling.
I know that my journal has become a place where I write and draw in order to express myself, which makes the brush markers, and calligraphy (also called brush lettering) markers a win for a creative art-journal style.
One of the best features if the way the tips are made, which won’t pill, or break over time. That means your expensive markers will last a long time, even if used daily.
The only downside to the brush markers are the size, they are really long, and chunky, however, you can find a carrying case for these markers specifically.
#2 Papermate Flair
If you’re a journalling novice, creative at heart, and love the feel of a marker over a pen, then these are your new best friend!
The absolute best markers I’ve found for journalling that you need to try are the papermate flair markers. They come in all different colours, and allow you to write more with a coloured marker without worrying about ruining the tip.
These markers are made by a reputable brand and you get good value for your money with a larger set.
Be careful, these markers can dry out quickly if left un-capped! If they dry out, there’s no way to revive the marker, and your favourite colour may be done for good.
This happened to me, and I got really sad because I had chosen the individual colours at Michaels instead of buying a set, add on top that Michaels is closed for in store shopping right now. 🙁
The best place to grab these markers is on amazon.
#3 Faber Castell
Another fancy brand of art markers, goes a little further into the professional art marker world with Faber Castell brand markers.
These aren’t just any markers tho, they’re called Pitt-Artist Markers featuring India ink. Now, this is for those who love to draw and create beyond the notebook. If you’re into drawing anime, or fashion, then these markers are the perfect two in one for you.
Faber Castell also has many other kinds of markers and pens that they offer, and are known as one of the most reputable professional stationary brands in the art world.
Remember…
I’ve tested and tried all of these markers for you, that’s why I’m recommending them! I could recommend another 10 brands, but these are my tried and true, ride or die, holy grail brands that I can’t live without.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post! Leave a comment if you have tried these markers, or if you’re into journaling. Let me know what your favourite writing pen is!
