Hey beautiful! This summer flew by! I honestly cannot even believe the amount of things that changed for me, and I’d love to share some of my MIRACLES with you before I discuss how to reach your higher self and the 3 methods I’ve been practicing for the last two years.
First I encourage you to focus on your heart as you read this (I know weird, but trust me, put your focus on the centre of your chest and try to feel your heart without thinking about it).

Let’s take a moment to thank ourselves for everything we’ve experienced so far on this journey towards our dreams, and take a deep breath as you acknowledge the experiences that have taught you tough lessons, and the happy moments.
I was rereading my post that I wrote before my 26th birthday about all the things I did when I was 25 and it made me cry! I was so proud of myself, now turning 28, it feels like that year was the start of where I am now, and the reason I can write this post about how to reach your higher self.
Summer Miracles
MIRACLE #1 Getting a spot, repeatedly, at Kensington Flea Market in Toronto.
This picture makes me smile! And don’t be fooled, I was anxious at first, in a new environment, with new people, selling myself! and the brand I’ve created to show others that they can overcome anything in their life. It was not easy at first.
But as I got into the flow of understanding what customers were looking for, drew on my experience working as a marketing rep for the Tim Horton’s double double Visa card and for March of Dimes at Yonge and Bloor stopping people asking for donations, I realized that selling what I’ve made, created and the story backing me up was much easier than my anxiety told me it was.
MIRACLE #2 Spending the summer with old friends, and connecting with new people.
You know that girl at school who has so many friends from different friend groups, and always knows who is compatible with who, and manages to create friend groups out of nowhere? Yeah, I’m that girl! hahaha! I introduced my friend from high school to my friend from university and they got along so well, now they’re in a social group together!
It’s a miracle because I started this blog to process the tough emotions of handling space between meaningful friendships and I finally feel as though I’m in a healed friendship place. Where I can create, manage, and understand what a healthy relationship is like for myself, with myself, and with friends.
3 Methods to Reach Your Higher Self
Okaaaay, now it’s time for how to reach your higher self!
This is a question that I first asked myself in 2019, who is your future self? How does she behave, what is she like? Does she watch Netflix or build a an empire?
First, let’s talk about what the “higher self” and “Future self” are.
I talk more about the complexities of the self as multidimensional here.
Method #1 Practice & Embody Self Connection
Ah, the process of self connection. It’s the thing that society calls selfish, but philosophers define as necessary for a good life.
My favourite method is to mediate, and connect with my body, soul, and consciousness. I often found I used this meditation by Gabby Bernstein to access my higher self when I was just beginning.
In school there was a higher difference between theory and practice, that’s what this method highlights.
If you’re wondering how that spiritual girl on instagram lives a high vibe life all the time, it’s because she embodies, aka, practices EVERYTHING she teaches.
And no, it isn’t easy. Is it worth it? YES.
In order to find the method of self connection that will best suit your needs, write a list of things you LOVE to do, and without question would spend time doing.
- Writing to higher self – dear higher self, and let it flow
- Draw! When you’re creative, the part of you that is creation comes to life! How do you think every artist has a different style? Even in my art classes, every child did the project differently, and that is the part of you that is unique, soulful, and higher than your earthly body self.
- Dance! move! flow! when you’re moving your body you’re more likely to stop thinking, complaining or being in the negative mindset that you’re used to! It raises your vibe to one of more FUN, flow, and creative freedom.
PRO TIP! for a long time I struggle with figuring out what I liked and would copy everyone else. One day I wrote a list of things that make me happy. #1 was floral print. You can find happiness in anything.
Method #2 Reflect on your life and find the lessons in the pain
Healing from past pain takes time, commitment, and support.
As a trained philosopher, I can tell you that the only way to get through the difficult stuff in your life is to reframe how you see it.
The best method I’ve found for this is to write about a painful experience (or open your voice notes and talk about it to yourself) and then change the story.
Our mind creates stories around experiences from childhood. That’s why there’s such a need for more efforts around teaching children how to understand and process their own emotions so they can grow up to be emotionally stable.

As we move through time as a collective, the healing of the world move with it.
This means that more people are acknowledging their pain, processing their strong emotions and understanding the holistic view of being human.
All of the processes above in the first method, can help you reach your higher self and process any strong emotions that cause you pain.
- Learn about emotional intelligence; co-dependency, defence mechanisms, and other basic psychology that you can use as a self assessment will help you identify where your blind spots are and begin to make conscious changes.
- Baby steps; go slow with yourself. This year while working with a coach, I asked her “How do you feel your emotions” I was so used to avoiding any strong emotions because of what I’ve experienced. Her answer was to just allow yourself to give yourself what you need in that moment.
Self Love Power Practice:
Sit with both hands on your heart, close your eyes. In your head or aloud say “sweetheart what are you feeling” and then respond “I’m feeling _____” with any emotion that comes to mind. Mirror it back “I see you’re feeling scared, lost, confused” and hold the emotional support for yourself that you are needing until the emotion is processed. When you’re done, breath out your mouth, and in through your mouth three times. As you breath picture the emotion leaving on the out breath and replaced with love on the in breath.

This is a very powerful practice that works POWERFULLY when used consistently throughout a span of 14 days. Do it as many times as you need. It anchors in your higher self as your adult self.
It also relates to processes of re-parenting and other types of healing.
Method #3 Join a Community that Lights You Up!
Before you’re ready (because readiness in any form is from your ego and not your higher self), join that program, do that course, and follow that girl with the life that you dream of!
This method is designed to propel you into the frequency of your higher self, and thus you’re more able to reach your higher self by being surrounded by like minded people and those who are on the same journey as you.
You’ll connect with your soul family by doing this.
You’ll get closer to your purpose – as I wrote this, my alarm went off “IMAGINE YOUR RANGE ROVER” which is something one of my FAVORITE COACHES taught me.
Things I’ve learned from other people;
- Set alarms for every hour at a repeating ending (Angel Number) to call yourself out on complaining and bring yourself more into the moment.
- Set reminders for angel numbers with affirmations
- create a desktop background with your vision board on it, so you can see it LITERALLY EVERYDAY!!!
- What you focus on grows. Focus on your blessings and more of them will come.
- Be happy with where you are. You’re here, and that’s amazing!
- create a high vibe playlist that makes you smile no matter what mood you’re in.
School proves that we learn best when we’re in community settings.
Remember…
It all comes down to YOU! This life is yours! Whether you live that juicy amazing life is within your control.
It’s interesting because the philosophy behind Reiki Healing is very similar to the Addiction Recovery programs. It’s also not surprising that DBT & CBT are based off Stoic philosophy.

Anything outside of this is NOT yours to control!
Final thought, reaching your higher self is often used in the spiritual world, but it’s still part of yourself. Your guides are parts of yourself. Your ancestors are within you. Everything you need is INSIDE YOU.
