The darkness kept me warm.
It knew this would happen, and the darkness seemed to be winning.
He pulled out his handcuffs, placed my hands together behind my back, and secured them.
I couldn’t say anything if I wanted to… I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs!
I DID NOT DO ANYTHING!!!

The room is cold, the walls are dark and intimidating.
My mind is racing in anticipation.
It’s not that I care what others think, it’s that I was raised by an overprotective, controlling, abusive mother, who never taught me to have my own voice.
Sitting in the police station, the room where they play good cop, bad cop, I kept going through the different outcomes.
I could go to jail.
That wouldn’t be fair, I didn’t do anything.
What about the doctor who saved me, or was that a hallucination?
It’s worse when you can’t remember what happened when, or what is real or not, especially while trying to piece together a puzzle for the police.
At least, I am knowledgable enough to know that silence is the best defence.
If you don’t say anything, there’s nothing they can twist against you.
Cops, people, mothers…

The door opened, and this mousey blonde woman walked in, wearing a navy blue pant suit, with a bright silver brief case.
